What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) are a form of treatment that combines the structure and support of inpatient programs with the flexibility and freedom of outpatient care. IOP at Recovery Ways Idaho is provided by Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPC), with over thirty years of combined mental health treatment experience. Our program includes group therapies three days per week for three hours, where patients can learn Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) skills, and life skills and build a supportive community to help cope with life difficulties and facilitate healing. IOP at Recovery Ways Idaho also offers the opportunity for patients to engage in medication management and individual therapies each week, with the option to continue these services following discharge from the IOP program.

What an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Can Do for Mental Health Disorders

Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are a specific type of outpatient program that provides more structure and support than traditional outpatient care. These programs can be beneficial for individuals struggling with mental health disorders, as they offer a higher level of intensity and frequency in treatment. Through individual therapy sessions, group therapy, and other evidence-based interventions, individuals can receive the necessary support to manage their symptoms and improve their overall well-being. In addition, IOPs also provide a sense of community and accountability, which can be crucial in maintaining long-term recovery from mental health disorders.
